I am not sure if there are any bloggers that wouldn’t want to grow their blog. Everyone blogs for different reasons: to earn money, as a hobby, or for many other reasons. As your blog grows, so does your self-pride.
I am going to share with you some of the most successful ways that I have grown my blog (and continue to do so!).
- Comment on other blogs.
I’m sure that everyone has heard it before but it really is one of the most beneficial (not to mention FREE) options that you have to grow your blog. It sounds strange to think that commenting on other blogs can impact your own blog but its true! The more comments you have out there, the more chance that someone will see your comment and click on your blog.
2. Guest posts.
I usually jump at any chance to guest post for someone. I love guest posting because it usually brings a whole batch of new viewers to my site. If you have never written a guest post before, usually you will have a 2-3 line bio that explains who you are, what you do, and what your blog is about with a link to your blog.
I love looking at stats on days when my guest post is new and hot. Even if they don’t follow me after visiting, it still feels like an accomplishment.
3. Pay for advertisements.
Many blogs will offer advertisement spots available on their blogs for you to purchase. The more popular the blog or website is that you purchased your ad spot from, the more likely you are to receive new visitors.
A good idea when paying for advertisements is to purchase one that is within your niche- or at least similar to it. For example, it would not be very beneficial for me to purchase an advertising spot on an automotive website, considering I am a frugal living blog.
4. Participate in link-up parties.
Not only do you get to meet a bunch of new bloggers, but you get more exposure to your own blog. I get inspiration for new posts from seeing other posts on link-parties. They’re great to visit when you have writers block. Plus, you get the opportunity to comment on these blogs, which refers back to tip #1.
5. Social media.
Get active in social media. It sounds simple, right? As easy as it may seem, it can also be time consuming and frustrating. Social media is my biggest source of traffic, along with many other bloggers. The more effort you put into it, the more return you will see.
