7 Life Reflections for My 20-Year-Old Self
Dear 20-Year-Old Self,
This is your upper 30-something self with some life reflections for you. Boy, do I have a lot to tell you!
Worry less. You worry too much! You need to relax. Don’t worry about the future so much. Things will happen. You are going in the right direction just keep going. Don’t look back.
Have FUN!! Girl, this is the time for fun. You will need fun memories to look back on when you are older. You will want those fun experiences of “Remember when….?” Play more. Be careful and don’t do anything stupid, but just have fun. Enjoy this time.
Hang out more with friends: This goes along with the above. Friends are priceless. Things are going to change as marriage and kids come along. Use this time to go out and experience life together. Make more memories.
Travel more. This is a MUST. Don’t say no to trips because you don’t think you can afford it. You can’t afford much but wait until you have kids. You will not have ANY money to travel. Those travel plans that come along and you usually turn down, DON’T!

Learn more about your grandparents. You love your Grandparents, dearly. But you will never get them back once they are gone. They have world experiences and memories that are totally different now. Take the time to visit with them and see what their life was like.
Take better care of your skin. Please, please take care of your skin. No tanning beds! You think tanned skin will make you look prettier on vacations and your wedding. Just say no. Wear sunscreen every single day. Yes, every single day. Wear a hat. You won’t look silly. And who cares if you do? You will thank me later.
Sleep more. For goodness sake, you will never get a chance to just sleep like you do now. After you have kids, goodbye good sleep. Yes, your kids will sleep but it’s not the same. Glorious, worry free sleep. Sleep all you want!
In Conclusion: You will have everything you need at my age. You may not have everything you dreamed of, but you have enough. If you take the time to do the things above you will be so very thankful. You will feel more fulfilled and content. Take care of yourself and enjoy each day. Rest assured, you will be a happy 30-something girl with lots of fun and adventures ahead of you.
Xoxo,
Your Upper 30-Something Self

Meet Shannon
Hi, I’m Shannon. I’m a mommy, teacher, and wife. Welcome to my crazy life! My sweet loves are my children. We live in the great state of Texas! By day, I’m a Special Education teacher. I wear many hats, (like most moms), and sometimes I feel like I am barely keeping up.
My kids keep me going and make me smile every day. We only get one shot at this life so I want to make every day count! I have plenty of Mommy/Wife/ Teacher fails but I keep trying.
Things that make me smile? I love my family, taking pictures, my phone, Sonic ice, chocolate, shopping, Labs, traveling, Texas, blogging, all things black and white, Pinterest, and lots of reality TV. I love trying out new recipes and trying to craft. You can find my blog at Daily Momtivity. Come visit!
