Blogging can be a hobby, a career, or both. Blogging can be enjoyable, a chore, or both. Blogging can be healthy, stressful, or both. As bloggers, writers, and photographers we occasionally need to ask ourselves, “What is my motivation? What is my direction? Am I happy?”

Self-Examination
I have been blogging on a regular basis for 3 1/2 years. This isn’t a long time, but I learned more than I ever imagined about the Internet, about myself, and about the world around me from blogging.
I find myself examining my blog and myself more often than not, trying to be sure I am happy with my work, I don’t let blogging overtake my life, and I put important things like family first.
It seems like I am constantly making changes to my blogging routine, changing assignments, projects, and tasks. Perhaps some of this is due to having ADHD… consistency is difficult for those of us who have trouble staying focused!
I think it’s more than that, though. I think it is easy to become lost in something you love to do. I love to write and I love photography. Blogging combines both of those loves. I love blogging.

Do Not Become Lost
However, I CAN NOT become lost in blogging. If I lose myself to one of my loves, what happens to my other loves; my family, my Bible ministry, and traveling for example? What is required of me? BALANCE.
With this in mind, I am writing this post, my last post in our series Let’s Make Your Blog Awesome. I am remaining a member of the International Bloggers’ Association but very soon I will be stepping down as a board member, passing on my responsibilities to someone else.
Perhaps Let’s Make Your Blog Awesome will continue, perhaps not. Either way, I value the IBA and I believe as international bloggers, writers, and photographers, we need to work together. Being a part of the IBA, an active member, is one way to do that.

How Will You Answer?
In conclusion, I will tell you the answers to the questions in my first paragraph. Love is my motivation. Love is my direction. And I am happy with my choices for blogging and for myself.
What are your answers to those questions? Perhaps it’s time for self-examination as a blogger. Making changes does not mean you are giving up. It means you are wise enough to stay balanced. And stay happy with your work.
Have a wonderful day wherever you are in the world, signing off in Mexico, Tina
