These outsourcing ideas for bloggers will have new and experienced entrepreneurs gaining back time, growing traffic, and maintaining focus on priorities.
Many bloggers automatically dismiss the idea of outsourcing blog tasks. Common roadblocks are money and the fear of delegation to a stranger.
When you do outsource, however, you free up YOUR time and that is where the value resides. When you have more time, you have the ability to focus efforts on those areas of your business which will allow for the most targeted growth.
Go ahead and pin this to your favorite blogging board. You will want to be able to find these tips later!
Where to Find Virtual Assistants and Blog Helpers
I am often asked for sources on ‘trustworthy’ freelancers, virtual assistants, and blog helpers. Truth be told, your teenager would most likely LOVE to earn a few dollars helping you out! They could probably volunteer to brainstorm more outsourcing ideas for bloggers (for a fee, of course).
If your kids are a bit young, here are a few reputable sources to get you started.
- Ask other bloggers (for bartered work, paid work, or number 4)
- Elite VA and VA for HireGroups on FB LINKS
- Blog-specific groups like Online Biz BFFs
- VA service websites
- Search Pinterest (surprisingly, there are a ton of virtual assistants who write great articles and offer deals on their services)
Outsourcing Ideas for Bloggers: What to Outsource
Social Media
- Filling Tailwind queues or live-pinning to Pinterest
- Facebook posts and engagement prompts scheduled directly in FB
- Loading of 3rd party schedulers (Edgar, Buffer, Hootsuite, CoSchedule, etc.)
Share Threads
Good gravy, who doesn’t want to outsource share threads?!? If you said, “I don’t mind them,” offer services to other bloggers and you will immediately have takers.
Purchased Content
What?! You bet. You will take a few minutes to rewrite it in your voice (or split it up to use on social media) and you will save hours! But take note: learn how to buy quality purchased content.

Editing posts
I love to write and hate to edit. If you’re the same, ask your favorite grammar lover to edit your content! Many bloggers actually have two or three friends who like this kind of stuff!
Repurpose Content
Make your content work twice (or three times) as hard as a single post. You’ve already written it, so learn how to repurpose your blog content to video or other formats. Positioning new networks or content formats can attract new readers and earn!
Video Editing
Video is 2017’s fastest growing medium and there is not end in sight. If you don’t like video editing (WHO DOES?!), consider hiring that out or at least having someone create an intro and outro for your blog’s video content.
Get the Full Outsourcing for Bloggers Checklist
I created a resource for my blogging clients to help them get an idea of tasks and duties they could outsource to a virtual assistant or blog helper. Knowing it would be helpful to many, I put it in the ND Consulting Resource Library and you can get it, too!
Get the Full Outsourcing for Bloggers Checklist!
The full checklist includes the following areas of blog tasks to outsource:
- Original and Purchased Content
- Offsite Content
- Images and Video
- Social Media Management
- Sponsored Content Tasks (this one can make a HUGE difference in blog earnings)
- Advertising
- Website / Technical
- Emails / Newsletters
- Branding
- Consulting
What NOT to Outsource
I’m a huge fan of outsourcing things you don’t like doing or any activity which doesn’t bring you income, however, a word of caution: there are some things which should not be outsourced.
Connection, voice, and sincerity will come across in most blog content and a few off-site tasks, as well. Newer or smaller bloggers still working to grow their business (and nail down their ideal readers) should reconsider outsourcing:
- Newsletters (I don’t recommend outsourcing this at most levels)
- SEO (keyword selection, competitor analysis, or anything other than formatting the post)
- Blog comment replies
- Surveys or the analysis of survey results
- Original content (unless rewritten as noted above or roundups)
