What do you blog about on Genealogy Gangster?

I blog primarily about genealogy but on my second blog online positivity, I like to share things that make people feel good. Things that make people happy.

How long have you been blogging? What motivated you to start?

I have been blogging for about three years now. I knew that it was part of my calling to be a writer and blogging gave me that platform to reach out to people.

What is the hardest part about blogging for you?

Monetization. I have not made money yet with my blog and I’m wanting to learn how to do that better so I can do more things with my blog using the money.

Who is your favorite blogger and why?

My favorite blogger is my mentor Thomas MacEntee who is a legend in the genealogy bloggersphere. He is so open and warm and inviting with his knowledge!

What do you do for fun when you aren’t blogging? 

I love to cook, read, go to movies and shopping. Oh the shopping!

Tell us one fun fact about yourself.

I’m a newlywed to the most amazing woman in the world!

What did you do before you began blogging? What skills do you have?

I was in Network Marketing. I have some strong internet and office skills and I dabble here and there in marketing and SEO work.

Have you been published anywhere else either online or in print?

I have a book coming out soon. It’s in the editing process.

What do you hope to achieve with your blog and online presence?

I hope to be a voice to a new generation for the industry of Genealogy. I hope to help educate and inspire young people to get in touch with their roots.
