Today, we have a fun member interview with Orla from Lola Kicks The Bucket. Orla is an encouraging and funny lifestyle blogger from Ireland, and she inspires to help everyone find a more positive life. Even though she is a new blogger you will enjoy reading all she has to say.

Don’t forget to ‘Pin’ me!
What do you blog about at Lola Kicks The Bucket?
I probably more likely fall under the category of lifestyle blogger but it’s really a goodie bag of positive living ideas from life lessons to bucket lists. I use a lot of my own personal experiences in my writing but in what I hope is a funny way and not I wish she stop talking about herself way!
As I am only starting out I am sure the blog will evolve. Maybe ask me again in 6 months, I hope to have found my own distinct style and voice by then.
How long have you been blogging? What motivated you to start?
I am very new on the scene, making my first tentative steps back in mid January this year with Lola Kicks the Bucket.
My best friends were the real motivation behind starting my blog. They knew I harbored a not so secret desire to try writing but lacked the confidence to do so. On New Year’s Eve, one of the girls told me “Orla you are one of the funniest people I know, when are you going to write a book or start blogging”. Now that I have all this free time on my hands, the idea didn’t sound completely crazy to me anymore. It really was a case of now or never, do or die.
How green and naive I was! Just thought the mere action of blogging would make people read your stuff. I hadn’t the foggiest idea how much work was involved in creating your own successful blog. I didn’t know which was better Blogger or WordPress. That I need to promote it, that people wouldn’t just happen across it. I was really floundering to get over 50 followers on Twitter. That’s when IBA entered my world.
One afternoon, I saw #ibachat promoted on my feed and thought to myself, lets do this. I did not regret my impulsiveness. It was an awesome experience. Everyone was so friendly and supportive.
I joined the chat again the following week, afterwards I just knew I had to join the IBA association. I really wanted to prove to others I was taking my blogging seriously but I knew I had to get help first. This is where you guys come in!
What is your favorite part of blogging?
I am falling deeper and deeper in love with the whole process. I enjoy rediscovering my creative side, from writing to design. However what really makes it worth while is the interaction with the blogging community, everyone is so helpful, supportive and fun!
What is the hardest part about blogging for you?
Life getting in the way! Basically, time management, I haven’t learned the best way to balance my life and my blogging lift yet, but I will get there.

Did you forget to share?
Who is your favorite blogger and why?
This is my first Sophie Choice moment in life.
Honestly there is far too many bloggers I follow to pick from. My tastes and interest varies so much it would be impossible to choose just one.
What do you do for fun when you aren’t blogging?
Meet up with my girls for the chats and banter, watch way too much Netflix, enjoy cups of coffee with my mom, care for my legitimately crazy 1 year old pup Prince, make my 4 month year old nephew smile and shopping.
Tell us one fun fact about yourself.
I accidentally learned how to moon walked on a balancing wire when zip-lining. (I have very bad balance so I slipped, swung myself around by accident so I was facing the wrong way and it was the only physical way I could get back up on to the wooden platform).
What did you do before you began blogging? What skills do you have?
I am currently on a career break so I am a qualified Environmental, Health & Safety Coordinator. I know, its a very long title, I am so glad I don’t have to recite that to people too often. I would have done a lot of training, auditing, quality controls…. basically a lot of boring stuff that has no relevance to my blog now.
That why I love it so much, it’s a complete departure from my norm and a lot less stress.
Have you been published anywhere else either online or in print?
Not yet but it’s definitely something I aspire too. It’s on my bucket list for the blog so it has to happen … 🙂
What do you hope to achieve with Lola Kicks the Bucket and online presence?
Now I am going to quote myself from a recent IBA Twitter Party:
to encourage others to stop living the life others choose for you & to choose the life you want for yourself. Like myself
I truthfully want to make a positive emotional impact on others peoples lives. Its never too late to change your life direction.
Thank you Orla for being a part of the IBA, and giving us some insight into your blog and life! Readers take a look at Orla’s blog Lola Kicks The Bucket below. It will make you want to change your life, if I do say so myself! Till next time, Haley
