Go ahead and ‘PIN’ this post! You’ll want to find it later!
4 Reasons Why You Should Be Batching Your Blog Posts
1. Batching forces you to plan ahead
Batching is the easiest way to get ahead of your blog’s content calendar if you stick with it. Now, if you’re not using a content calendar right now and just winging it, then you’ll need to start immediately to be successful in batching.

When you schedule a few hours to work on blog content using the batch method, the first thing you’ll do is plan; plan the topics of your blog posts, strategize the cadence of your posts, plan for upcoming holiday tie-ins, etc.
2. Batching allows you to see the big picture
Do you have a massive topic idea that you could split into a special series? Continuity is easier to attain when you’re batching.
Could you design a single content upgrade that would fit with the few posts you’re currently working on? It’s easier to see common threads between posts when you batch your content.
If you’re planning an event or launch of some sort, it’s easy to ensure that your blog posts are leading new and existing readers towards that end.
3. Batching leads to greater productivity
Batching allows you to get into flow mode easier as well. This is what I call when the words or actions just seem to flow out of you with almost no effort; it just comes effortlessly. Flow mode is the opposite of fighting for every word and sentence.
Your brain knows, “Ok, this is what we’re doing right now, and I can do this because I only have to focus on this one task and I’ve got enough time set aside.”
When you’re focusing on doing one task for a set amount of time, such as designing images back to back for a few posts, things come together easily and just seem to work out.
This is because you’re able to focus instead of constantly switching gears.
Every time you switch tasks, you lose a bit of time and productivity going from mode to mode. The more you can stay in flow mode and maintain that hyper-focus, the more you’re going to get finished with more ease. This leads to greater volumes of quality content production.
4. Batching will help your blogging style & process mature faster
So many bloggers talk only about the productivity and planning benefits of batching without mentioning one of the biggest perks; you’ll become a better writer.

You’ll start to notice snags in your blogging workflow that can be smoothed out or tweaked. The more you batch, the faster and better writer you become.
Because let’s be honest here, we all have those early blog posts that make us cringe one, two, or five years later. Oh, the horrors! Pro tip: Rework those older posts asap if you haven’t yet.
Overwhelmed?
One of the common concerns that people bring up when learning about batching is that they’re overwhelmed by the idea of working on several posts at the same time. It’s not overwhelming in the slightest once you train your brain to work in this more methodical and planned style.
In fact, by the time you get through the first set or two of batched blog posts, you’ll feel much less overwhelmed than when you were producing posts one by one. Plus, as a bonus, if you happen to get really “in the zone” when you’re brainstorming or writing, you just might end up with months worth of content. And that certainly takes the pressure off any blogger.
Worth it!
