Wedding Connections of the Hudson Valley: All About Weddings

September 6, 2017 by Monica Leave a Comment

Today we have a member interview from Felicia of Wedding Connections of the Hudson Valley. She has a wonderful blog dedicated to helping you plan your wedding.

Meet Felicia Zammit-McMann
Today's member interview from Felicia of Wedding Connections of the Hudson Valley. She has a wonderful blog dedicated to helping you plan your wedding.

Bio: My passion is the wedding industry. I have been professionally blogging and freelance writing since 2013. Beyond writing, I have a degree in fashion design and even had the amazing opportunity to work alongside England’s most renowned bridal gown designer, Philippa Lepley. I am also a graduate of the Wedding Entrepreneur’s Academy.

What do you blog about on Wedding Connections of the Hudson Valley?

My blog showcases the amazingly talented wedding professionals in the Hudson Valley (Upstate NY) and serves as a resource for anyone getting married in the Hudson Valley, giving them tools and insights to help make their vendor decisions easier

How long have you been blogging? What motivated you to start?

I’ve been blogging for various sights for about three years. It started off really as a hobby. I love to write, and I love weddings, so I just reached out to a few of my favorite blogs and asked if they needed contributor writers. From there, I realized I really enjoyed it and got a lot of positive feedback from my writing style. So, I then decided to create my own blog writing about what I love, while at the same time educating and guiding couples on their own wedding journey

What is your favorite part of blogging?

Being able to help others through my knowledge and experience of weddings, while also being entertaining and bringing some fun for the reader as well

What is the hardest part about blogging for you?

Keeping blog posts short…I can ramble sometimes.

[clickToTweet tweet=”Looking for advice for an upcoming #wedding? #IBAblogger @wedconnecthv has all you covered!” quote=”Looking for advice for an upcoming wedding? Our IBAblogger has you covered!”]

Who is your favorite blogger and why?

I have too many…

What do you do for fun when you aren’t blogging?

I love cooking, going to the gym, searching Pinterest and playing with our cat.

Tell us one fun fact about yourself.

I am a huge Disney fan!

What did you do before you began blogging? What skills do you have?

I spent the most of my career in the corporate world working for non-profits and educational institutes.

Have you been published anywhere else either online or in print?

Yes! I currently write a feature in Organic Hudson Valley Magazine on green weddings – from food to invites, your dress and everything in between. I’ve also been a contributing writer for The Overwhelmed Bride, a wedding blog based in Los Angeles, and was also a contributing writer for Book More Brides, a wedding industry business training website. On the non-wedding side, and to feed my love of Disney, I also write for a well known Disney blog based near Orlando, FL

What do you hope to achieve with your blog and online presence?

The goal is to provide a trusted resource for couples everywhere with practical guidance (wedding hacks – if you will) on wedding planning, to help eliminate the wedding planning learning curve many couples face. My motto is “when you know better, you do better.”

While my blog connects (hence the business name) couples getting married in the Hudson Valley with direct access and support from local wedding professionals, it’s a teaching tool first and foremost. So, the topics and teachings apply to any couple, anywhere.
